The remains of the Maendy Inn (formerly the Cilybebyll Arms). Located just outside the church grounds on the east.
The Pontardawe Club was established at the Maendy Inn on March 1, 1823 (it moved to the more conveniently located Dynevor Arms on September 24, 1836). The club was set up for labourers, artists, mechanics and others to unite in a society for the encouragement of industry and brotherly love and for the support of each other in illness. |
